For the past three (going on four) years, I’ve had the tremendous opportunity to serve my hometown as a Boise City Council Member. Working alongside you has been the honor of a lifetime as we’ve confronted some of the biggest challenges our community has ever faced. I will forever be inspired by those who never stopped striving to build a stronger community, and I will forever be committed to our shared vision for Boise.
This November, Boise will vote for six Council Members in brand new geographical districts for the first time in our city’s history. I am excited about the opportunity to represent District 6, an area I’ve lived for the last 15 years, and the area I was born and raised. District 6 contains most of North Boise west of 15th street, all of Northwest Boise, and all of the amazing neighborhoods between the Boise River and State Street (18th St - Lake Shore).
I am committed to addressing the unique needs and challenges of my diverse district while ensuring every decision I make serves the best interest of all Boisians.
I am tremendously proud of the work I’ve done with the community in my first 3 years on Boise City Council:
Developed and adopted the Pathways Master Plan
Created and adopted the Pollinator Friendly Tree Resolution
Built 5 (soon to be 6) new parks as the Council Liaison to the Parks & Recreation Dept.
Established 8th St as a permanent pedestrian area
Adopted a Vision Zero Plan to help eliminate traffic fatalities
Advocated for the preservation and reopening of historic Lowell and South Pools
Addressed housing and transportation needs for recently arrived refugees as the Council Liaison to Neighbors United
Pushed for approval of funding and location for Fire Station 13 in NW Boise
In the weeks ahead, I will build out my platform and detailed plans for my run for reelection in 2023. For now, be assured my commitment to grassroots community involvement and efforts in building a clean, connected, and affordable Boise for everyone will continue.
